removal of all my moleshi i am 15 years old and i have alot of moles on my face. and my questions are do moles ever go away and how much would it cost to take away about 20 moles? would it leave big scars or little scars? because i had a mole on my wrist that was cut off and i didnt need stitches. and it left a black mark for a while and then went to the color of my skin. is this what would happen on my face also? thanks
Re: removal of all my molesIt depends on the type and color of your moles. In general, most dermatologists do not recommend removing 20 moles from the face, as there will most likely be scars. I rough ballpark to remove a mole is about $100. You will need to consult to see what it would cost in your situation and even if it would benefit you cosmetically.

Re: removal of all my molesnot sure about the cost as it varies based on your doctor, the procedure and your insurance. however, i can tell you that i've had about 7 removed from my face and about 20 removed from my neck and chest - all in varying sizes. several have been removed surgically (plastic surgery and stiches) while the majority have been shaved off. i am fortunate in that i tend to heal well. i have virtually no visable scars on my face - plastic surgery and shaved removal are almost identical results. keeping the area moist with petroleum jelly/vaseline while it heals and for weeks/months after helps diminish the "redness". then it turns dark (almost like getting the mole back!) but then over 6-12 months it becomes flesh colored and only when looking up close can you see that the area is a bit more "white" than the rest of your skin (obviously this depends on the color of your skin to begin with). i too had many many moles at 15 and understand that they can be a source of insecurity. and while i don't advocate getting rid of all of them, you may feel better after removing a few "ill-placed" or larger moles. find a good dermatologist and talk to him/her about it.
