Post a new topicby livingwith on Thu Mar 06, 2008 4:11 pm

It started the day after xmas, I started feeling really weak and out of breath, shooting pains in legs. I went a couple weeks like that then went to Dr. and he ordered a diebetes [diabetes] and lupus test. It came back clear.
About two weeks went by and on Feb 10 08 I started burning from the inside out all over. Went to the Dr and they thought might be shingles that hadn’t came out yet. They gave me medicine but it didn’t help. I burn so badly my arms, legs, back, front and most a...Read the full article

Have they checked you for Reflex Sympathic dystrophy or neuropathy? There are illnesses that can cause this kind of pain (burning pain). Perhaps a pain doctor or even a neurologist could help. I wish you the best. Peace

In late 1988 & early 1989, I began to burn & hurt all over. The pain was so severe that when I had a wreck (broke my 7th vertebra & had a slight dislocation of the area between the 2nd and 3rd Vertebra) I didn't even know that my neck was hurt, until I went to wash my hair some 2 hours later & discover it would only turn one way. My muscles, tendons, & ligaments burned so badly you just wouldn't believe. I had Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatique Syndrome. Rest was what my body needed. I had been working 12 hours a day M-F and 8 on Saturdays, driving 2 hours each day to & from work. It took me 1 1/2 years to even begin to believe rest would help. The wreck was what began my rest therapy. After 3 weeks of resting because of my neck, I got to take my neck brace off & just drove up my driveway & my spine started burning again. This is when I realized we can use up our bodies if we don't take care of them. I slowed down, varied my activities, & limited my lifting, which at first was no heavier than a 2 liter drink, and cut way back on my driving.
I also had a cousin that had Chronic Fatique Syndrome & burning was her hardest part.
This may not be relate at all, but it is a place to look.

I'm a woman of 24, and have not yet been "officialy" diagnosed with either Generalized Anxiety Disorder or Panick Disorder, but I have had panick attacks since 2000, and in June 2007 my doctor started prescribing me Paxil (over a 3 month period on a very low dose, to contrlol anxiety) and Xanax (to be taken only on the event of a panick attack). Something similar happened to me once, on July 2007, although it only happened for a few hours. I woke up early in the morning with that burning feeling all over my body, a kind of tingling-burning sensation ALL over, at some point I felt as if all my blood was boiling and burning me from the inside. I thought something was really wrong with me and tried to cool down my body with a shower, after that I felt better for about 10 minutes, and then it started again. I decided to call my doctor, and she told me it could be a panick attack, so she coached me through the phone on a simple relaxation routine which I was told to repeat 10 times (30 min, approx.), and then to take one of my Xanax pill. It was very hard to believe that it would work, but having coped with many different manifestations of panick attacks (you are "allowed" to feel everything during a panick attack: that you are about to die, that something bad will happen, that you are having a heart attack, you feel your heart racing...) I decided to trust her and try thinking it could be a panick attack manifesting itself in this case with the burning sensation. My blood pressure rocketed and that made me more scared so I called again the doctor and was instructed to continue doing the excercises to relax, and after really trying and taking the Xanax I fell asleep and woke up several hours later feeling fine. It hasn't happened to me since, but if you have any other experiences that might resemble a panick attack, do consider it an option and ask your doctor if it may be possible that you have one from time to time...
