I have had folliculitis since May 2000. symptoms were moderate initially treatment "Panamycin" helped a while. Later I put on "Doxycycline" from Nov-Feb 2001. symptoms now very mild - almost cled not completely. symptoms due to a depressed immune system? Should I be concerned? I know I am not at risk HIV as I have never had penetrative sex of any kind or shd needles.

This is not a sign of a weak or compromised immune system and there is no need to check for HIV. THis is, in fact, not that unusual. There is no concern other than the desire to resolve the problem.
